There is an airport in Sitia and 3 main ports in Sitia Agios Nikolaos and Ierapetra, connecting Lasithi with Athens, Piraeus and other islands such as Rhodes, Santorini or mainland airports (Alexandroupoli, Ioannina etc). Sitia’s airport is also connected with direct charter flights with some European capitals such as Amsterdam, only during summer.
Another way to approach Lasithi, is from Heraklion by car or bus (Heraklion-Sitia 137 km/Heraklion-Agios Nikolaos 72 km). In Heraklion is the international airport “Nikos Kazantzakis” and a major port.
KTEL is a local bus organisation as it called in Greece. So if you are looking for a bus station, ask for KTEL. There are bus stops at any worth-visiting place and not only. The tickets are cheap enough and depending on the distance of your trip.
Taxis are grey. These are usually luxury cars (Mercedes etc) and in a very good condition. Taxi drivers are very kind here.
Car and Bike rental offices can be found in many places such as all town centers, Sitia airport, Agios Nikolaos port etc.
