Sitia is the eastern-most town in Crete, built amphitheatrically on the hill of Bonda, right next to the sea, with a population of approximately 10.000 people. The moderate touristic growth has not altered the picturesque feeling, tradition and tranquility of the town. Tourism is of quite good quality, especially for families. Of course, night-time fun is not missing from this place, but without the presence of troublemakers. The town has both an airport and a port and offers all the requirements for a comfortable and relaxing vacation close to nature with the rich “scent” of history present. The touristic facilities are of a high level, but you can definitely find cheap accommodation.
